SANJOG SONA TMT is manufactured using Billet Steel. Billet Steel made TMT Bars offers significant benefits over traditional Ingot made TMT in terms of consistency and quality. Our in-house steel melting shop is equipped with an Induction Furnace and a Continuous Caster to manufacture Billets as per our own exacting quality standards and conforming to the IS 2830:2012 standard (CM/L – 3193759).
Ladle Pouring of the liquid metal ensures that no blow holes are formed during Billet manufacturing. This ensures that the TMT that you use is unikely to split during use.
The formation of cavity at the centre of the ingot is called piping. It could cause surface cracks weakening the steel.
Purging during ladle pouring also ensures uniformity of the chemical composition in the finished TMT.
Billets have a highly uniform grain structure as there is uniform pressure applied during the metal forming process in the continuous caster.
